1990 240 wont turn over 200 1990

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!

When I started reading the post I thought we had reach a curve towards finding an answer.

As I read more, I think it turned into a pretzel! 😳

It looks like it's possible that the engine is so far out of time, that the next Christmas would be closer.
If you did not compress the air and fuel you might only have created a slow flame at best. No snap, crackle, pop!

As far as spark to the plugs it now becomes last on the list for the time being.

I am a loss to why you are not getting gasoline to flood those plugs just like the starting fluid did!

I think both the fuel check and checking the cam timing or actually the total engine timing has to be done. Since you have done that before you should be aware of how to look for the engines reference marks.

You could do either one of these minor chores first, at this point.

I myself would take my trusty socket and wrench and rotate the crankshaft pulley at the bottom.

Bring the the engine around slowly by hand, to the right looking at the engine, until you line up the mark down there onto the zero line.

Look under the distributor cap and see which way the rotor button is pointing. You want it eventually under the number one spark plug wire hole of the cap.
That should be at about the seven O'clock position. If not, rotate the engine again one more turn as it should only be opposite it only that one time.
If it's off again by a bunch we have found a problem.

If it's close or right on, then we need to check the cam sprocket mark location by removing the center screw at the top of the plastic cover.
By pulling it outwards and inching it back to see the notch on the back plate the notch of the sprocket had better be there!
You should also be able to look down into the oil cap opening and see the cams lobes of number one cylinder pointing upward at you.
Equally in opposite directions.
Almost like Mickey Mouses ears. I use a rabbit once for a description and was told that they stick straight up! 🐰 Or maybe like, 🐵 or maybe🐻!

Ok you should be able to get that done because you have done it.

I will have to say that the visualization of anyone with a six foot fence pipe on any type of wrench
Is one determined person to possibly break something. Most of the time it's loose though!

I was just wondering..... Is it possible that you also tightened the "stud bolt" on the tensioner too?
It could have broke and is just sitting there under tension?

A torque wrench of a half inch drive size should be considered.

I know you said camshaft bolt or more likely it was the crankshaft bolt you were concerned with.
I myself use an air impact after the initial pre-torque set up.

I think it was like 45 FOOT pounds only plus 60 degrees. I really need to refer to the manual instead of my memory!

I mark a flat corners outward onto the pulley and then use the impact to rotate the bolt one flat more around to another corner gives me the degrees required!
6 into 360 = 60 degrees. Rat-a-tatt-at-that and it's done!

The fuel check has to get done because we do not have an explanation for the no-wet plugs.
You have spark, though only slightly weak and injector noid light saying voltage is present.

Looks like the test for a fuel flow from the tank is a must.
Do it first befor filling that way if there is a problem you won't have to deal with so much gasoline.

Besides, if the gremlin is in there, we want that condition to keep its head raise up so we can say, ah-ha! You little šŸ!

Phil
