Struts Slowly Lower wo Supporting TieRod and BallJoint? 200 1990

Hi

The tie rod should be able to travel with the length of the stroke of the struts shock cartridge. The shocks piston stops at the top.

The only way things get longer would be the cartridge has come out of the strut housing.

Check to see if the retaining nut for the cartridge is still threaded into the support housing.

Were there any clunking sounds coming from the front end. Could this have led up to you wanting to change these items?

Was it only on one side?

Phil
