I have been using ethanol laced fuel in my 1800 for years with no problem. Ethanol has two effects....lowers BTU value of fuel so it does lower MPG a little. Also can cause older elastomers to swell. Modern seals should be fine and performance differences are subtle. Sounds like you have some other issue....maybe fuel contamination or something else
