I found that the ethanol blended fuel was melting the inside of the rubber fuel lines on my '70 145. Small bits of rubber would then find their way to the fuel bowls and clog the fuel inlets.
For a while, I was changing the fuel lines every 8 months because of this.
I started using StaBil Marine Formula stabilizer in the fuel and haven't had an issue since.
Unless you are running high rpms for extended amounts of time, I don't think you'll need a lead additive.
Ethanol blended fuel is nasty stuff.
