I believe you will find that the pin can move in all directions. A person at Karlynn told me that they never had clocking marks and he had been there for years. So I did what you are suggesting and found that there is no restriction in movement of the pin like the ones I removed from the car.

Someone here must have installed the Karlynn version. They might have never known the difference. However, if they installed the clocked version incorrectly they would have found out that there was a difference!

The question becomes, is there any difference in functionality? I am not sure but would like to know because I found a clocked pair to install instead and have the Karlynn version on the shelf.
