Hey Oldduke,

When was the last time you replaced the thermostat and changed the coolant? Could be the tstat isn't closing. Makes for lousy gas mileage and your oil gets dirty faster. A trip to Stinking Creek may have you shivering this time of year with very little heat out of the vents.

On the other hand, the compensator board, also known as the Temp Faker, has its trouble making good connections, so if it responds to a slap on the dash, it is time to get rid of it: The Ol' Temp Faker Trick
