i hope im not being repetitive, i think i posted this before, but i cant find it, and i think i may not even have posted it, but just had the idea that i should, and never did it. whatever, anyway

i ripped a GLE stereo amplifier out of an 80s GLE at a junkyard (to partner with my GLE equalizer ). i mean, $5 for the amp, and an eq for free, how can i pass it up even if i dont figure out how to use it? im wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram or schematic of some sort. the wires are so incredibly hard to file through on those GLEs without ripping off all the door panels and such.

i looked at the Haynes manuals i could find in the library and the auto shop, but they were very inconclusive. the library had nothing, despite it being right down the street from a university. the auto shop had the good ole "VOLVO 240/740/940" book which had wiring diagrams from just the standard level models. if anyone knows where i can look at a diagram or if someone can give me a hint on the what the colors of the wires -- atleast just a few -- it would be greatly appreciated.

if anyone has ever messed around with the stereo system of a 740GLE and remembers any of the colors of the wires for the speakers at least. ive messed around with plenty of systems, so if i just get a few hints i can probably make due.

I'm having a problem with my amp in my 740 '89 Turbo Wagon. The front two speakers work fine, the back right one barely works, and the back left one doesn't at all. I worked my way to the amp last night, and didn't see any wires disconnected. I am assuming it is the amp that is bad - but then why do the front two work fine? If you come across any answers to my problem in your search for your amp, please let me know.

I mentioned solder before on the relays, here it is again. I hak to dismantle my power amp and solder a whole lot of cold solder joints. The separate power amp under the dash in the 760 powers the woofers in the front doors. the rest of everything (as I remember) runs off the stereo unit in the dash.

i would really tihnk that was a speaker or wire problem. hook the speakers up to your home stereo or something to see if they work. if they still work fine, change your wires. if you've already done that... i guess it could be the amp, but its very peculiar. also, if you traced the wires back to the amp... could you tell me what the colors of the speaker wires were? that'd help me out a bunch.
