Stalling in Cold Weather Low Idle 200 1990

My 1990 Volvo 240DL stalled last Winter in very cold weather. The car would not stall once it warms up. From reading the Brick last winter, I believe the issue is a low idle caused by an air leak in my air-intake.

I am about to buy a number of air hoses from IPD and swap them out. I think the #1 culpret is the Air Intake hose (this is the ribbed hose). I was going to change the breather, flame trap, and PCV hose as well.

Has anyone had this problem with the low idle, and have solved the issue with hose replacement?

Thanks,
Jayson

Things to go after:
1) Throttle body cleaning- buy the gasket for $2....

2) Clean all the hoses to the throttle body and the idle motor. Couple cans of carb cleaner oughta do the trick.

3) Fuel pressure test- is Fuel Pressure Regulator working right?

4) (The one you don't want to hear) Air Mass Meter

But before that check the ECU for codes. Is the Check Engine light on ever?

Good luck!

Might wanna add these to your list also... 200 1990

ignition coil.wires, plugs and distributor (cap & rotor). I had similar porblems on both my 90 BMW and Volvo. On the bimmer, it turned out to be the wires and on the Volvo it was a combo of wires and coil. The spark just wasn't strong at the plug. You could even smeel the unburned fuel in the exhaust fumes!
