air control motor

Well I'm really in a bind I've found lots of advice and directions on checking for power to the acm but nothing on what to do if there is none, any ideas?
thanks in advance.

If this a CIS system motor (pre LH), then if you are using a DC meter you may not see anything as the signal is AC.
The center terminal is ground and the other two are out of phase square waves.
Check with a good AC meter or an oscilloscope.
If truly no signal then either the controller box (located next to Lambda controller at right kick panel) is bad or wiring from coil to box is open.
I have fixed the boxes. It requires replaceing blown transistors.
Or go to junkyard.
If interestd in box repair, email me.....

First realize this is an AC signal, so if you are measuring with a good DC meter, it may show nothing.
On the motor one terminal is ground, the other two are out of phase square wave signals.
You may have to use an O;scope to see these, or at least a decent AC meter.
If there is truly no signal:
this signal is directly derived in the controller box (next to Lambda controller at right kick panel) from a signal from the coil. Either the black box controller is bad, or the wiring from the coil is open.
Get box from junkyard..
Also they can be repaired sometimes, I have done this and maybe could fix yours if interested email me (near Boston MA)

no it is not a "cis" motor its in an 86 245, and no i did not realise that it was an ac signal . i was testing with a dc meter it was my understanding that the center terminal was supposed to have 12 volt dc at all times, but i have been wrong about alot of things so far. not about not being cis tho there is no control box near the ecu.
Thanks for the reply
