Dead Blinkers 200

Hello,

The turn signals and hazard lights suddenly stopped working in my 92 240. Bulbs and fuses seem fine. I have searched the BB and my Bentley manual looking for info and havent found what I need. Where is the relay located......What's the trick?

Thanks in advance

FYI, on my 89 - 245 the little black cube is marked (white lettering): SAE J 590, SAE J 945. Imposed on the top is: HELLA, TBB 76 DOT, 40B 003750-31, 2(4)x21W/32cp-12V, Made in Germany. in the upper right corner is A (circled) 71440.
Once you locate it, you can open it (lightly pry it open) and see what is what. Then do as Don F. stated.

Mine was working , not working, buzzing, etc. It is now exposed to the world and gets attention when it starts to buzzzzzz. I guess I should follow Don's advice.

Hope this helps.

Al

When you find the relay, resolder it before tossing it. $0, no risk, 15 minutes, clean 'n easy job. If it helps nothing, you're out nothing.

Resolder your fuel pump and OD relays, too, before they let you down.

If the relay is located in that model year in the same place as mine ('86 245) it is clipped behind the driver's side kick plate to the right of the accelerator pedal - it is about a 1 inch cube right behind the center front console.

I also wonder if something may be grounded out somewhere...

sometimes the fuse connections become corroded and lose their function... try a light sanding of the turn signal fuse connection.

good luck
