Would a malfunction O2 sensor at the 1994 940 trigger the engine malfunction light in the dash to glow off? Thanks for any idea

If the light is set on there will be fault code stored. Get the fault code and you will know the problem. O2 fault is just one of many things that will set the light.See the FAQ section re fault codes.

Yes, it is one of many things that could light the MIL. In no way can you assume this is the problem w/o further investigation, however.
