240 ignition 200 1987

My 87 240GL died on me a week ago. I put new plugs, wires, cap and coil on it. Now there's no spark form the coil and no impulse. Any info would be appreciated. I would hate to junk it over something simple.

Did we just go through this or am I getting posts mixed. Verify belt, suspect Hall pickup is right. If it comes to it, check out the power stage on the fender well by the battey. Thermal grease.

My bets are on the Hall Sensor pickup in the distributor. No impulse= no fuel pumps=no spark. Good Luck

Check the 25 amp fuse and holder behind the battery or the fuel pump relay.

These won't affect the ignition, Dan.
Till we hear more, I'm thinking the same as Trev29—timing belt.

Don’t mind me I’m dyslexic, I get my ignitions and injections mixed up!

How did it die? Ie. if it just suddenly quit while driving along, it could be the timing belt. Is the distributor rotor turning?

the car died while driving, in a fashion similar to a broken timing belt. As an amatuer, none of my friends would listen to my suggestions and told me the timing belt may not affect the lack spark or impulse. Also, the car hasn't started in a week, but, according to the temp. gauge, it's running hot when the key is turned on. So, if by chance it is not the timing belt, could the sending unit be the problem? Thank you all for your time and knowlege. I appreciate all your suggestions.
