bleeding brake system and m/c 200 1984

I built a pressure bleeder yesterday (thirteen dollar garden sprayer)with 2 dollars of line and a used M/C cap) and bled the brake system on my 84 240. I had to pump the peddle a bit to get the rear circuits to open up, but all in all it worked well. There is one problem though; when I had finshed purging the lines of all the old black and cruddy fluid, the rear chamber of the M/C was still full of the old black stuff. Why did this not cycle out, and how do I go about replacing that fluid?
TIA
JD

pull the tank off and dump the old fluid. that should have been the first step. that way new fluid has a head start in the system. good luck, chuck.

Could always try one of my favorite toolbox devices, the infant nasal asparator. these can be had at any drug store and are a rubber bulb used to suck the snot of a baby's nose. They work wonders for all sorts of projects and are super cheap.

The rear tank is blocked off by a divider so no access to the fluid for sucking.

It could be that the MC rear chamber walls are coated with the black slime making the fluid look dirty. I pulled my MC and cleaned it before doing the bleed. If the level of the rear chamber dropped during bleeding then the fluid was replaced.
