rattle in the shifter 700 1989

I have a 1989 740T auto, and have developed a rattle in the shifter area. That is it rattles when I go over bumps. like somthing is loose. I think it is coming from in front of the shifter, to the right, underneath the trim. before I tear it apart to find what it could be, does anyone knwo something about this? Thanks..
