The car in question is a 1971 1800E. I will describe my impressions from the walk-around inspection I did, and I would appreciate input as to value from the collective wisdom of the board.

The car runs. I have not inspected the engine, most of my focus has been on the body. I have no information leading me to believe the engine has ever been rebuilt. Auto trans. Car is sitting rather low, suspect worn suspension. Exhaust is kinda rusty, but I can't see any holes.

It is light blue, although there is red paint on the kick panels in the passenger compartment, so I do not know the original color.

There are some rust bubbles around the headlights. The passenger headlight bezel is held on with screws and somewhat misaligned. The drivers side bumper is bent. Glass seems OK. Brake lights have seen better days.

There is serious rust behind both front wheel arches. Holes are developing. Rockers have bubbles, I suspect there is Bondo covering rust. Rear wheel wheels are rusting on both sides. The rear valence is rusty. Floors have rust, as does the trunk floor. Doors have rust on the bottom as well as on the inside leading edge.

Interior is basically complete. Seats have been refinished in tweed. Carpets are OK. This is probably the best part of the car.

From 15 feet it looks OK. No big dents, and the paint that isn't rusted is presentable. Opinions?
