Thermal Sensor on radiator? HELP PLEASE!!! 700 1990

Hi Folks, I have a 90 740 Turbo. A plug on the radiator keeps popping out and shoots coolant all over. I believe it's a thermal switch. It also seems to just plug in with out threads.It has 2 wires leading out of it. How does this thing stay in there? It's on the top right hand side of radiator. Any help on it's part name is most appreciated. Thanks in advance
