Yesterday I finally managed to remove both the fill & drain plugs on the M47 5 speed transmission. I was intrigued by the metallic paste adhering to the magnetic drain plug. Wasn't easy to clean off. (maybe 2 cc volume of paste). I'm assuming this is normal wear & tear for 233K miles.

By the way, any suggestion for best way to clean transmission fluid out the syringe I used for future uses of differential fluid etc?
