Hey everyone! I've been trying to hunt down a poor acceleration issue and so I have found myself cleaning all the intake components, the throttle body, IAC valve, and putting on a new intake gasket for the runners. The problem is it's Saturday and my parts dude doesn't have the gasket, I thought he would and so didn't order one ahead of time from the dealership or fcp (its like a $2 item DANG!!). He has one for an the LH system but mine's a CIS k-jet. So I guess it won't fit. Anyhow the Volvo dealership doesn't open till monday and this car is my sole means of transportation so it HAS to be completed by Sunday evening. One parts guy said to cut up a piece of cereal box to make a new gasket which kinda makes sense since the original Elring gasket is nothing more than thick paper. But another dude said to use RTV or gasket-maker goop or some such thing, but I don't think thats appropriately indicatd here. Are there any caveats to cutting up a piece of cardboard or cereal box?
