I'm looking to put a CD player in my dash. I pulled an old 2-knob tape deck out, and I was geared up to start cutting the original 3-hole opening into a big rectangle for a modern CD player, when I realized that the "spot" wouldn't be deep enough... The heater tube running up to the passenger-side windshield defrost vent sits in the projected back-left area where the CD player needs to be... Is there any way to do this besides cut the original heater vent hose and replace it with some generic flexi ducting? What have others done? Right now the stereo is all hooked up but it's just sitting on my map shelf. Thanks.
