I need a little help. I have been sorting through converting my 444 carburation to 2 Weber 40DCOE. It's a B20 and mildly modified with a cam and compression ratio of 9.8:1 I have a friend with a lot of jets and stuff so it hasn't been too expensive. I have tuned and tweeked but I need to better understand why they spit! Are they too lean? If so, what is this "SPIT"? Is it a backfire? Valve lash is fine then what makes it spit? Late or early timing? I have checked both and they are fine. What shall I look at? I have buckets of details but don't want to bore anybody. Can someone dip into their experience and enlighten me?
