Crankcase ventilation 200 1991

In the crankcase ventilation system. There is black plastic box that mounts to the engine block. The flame trap attaches to it. Is there an easy way of changing that out? From the looks of it, it appears that one must drop the starter, and the EGR valve to get this box out. I could remove the intake manifold also. What is the best way to get at this box?
Thanks,
John
