rear control arm bushing TIGHTEN? 200 1987

I just installed new front end bushings in my daughter's '87 240. According to Bently, before final torquing of the control arm bushings the vehicle should be moved back and forth as well as bounced several times to set the bushings to their natural position. I did this and then drove the car up on rhino ramps to gain access to the bushings. Problem is that the rear control arm bush on the passenger side is very difficult to access because of the exhaust downpipe being in the way. Damned if I can get any tool on it to give it a good turn and I can't beleive a shop would actually drop the exhaust to access it . Anybody got a method that worked for them???

Thanks in advance,

Dan
