The '93 that my daughter is driving has a kick-down problem.
The cable is slack at the throttle wheel. It will not retract down the sheath and can only be pulled out another 1/8" against spring pressure.
The transmission shifts to 2nd at about 20-25 mph. While in 2nd, it behaves in a free-wheeling manner; the engine returns to idle with no throttle.
The shift to 3rd can be precipitated above 45 mph by selecting 2nd and re-selecting drive. Otherwise it occurs about 55 mph.
Overdrive will not engage, even with selecting and de-selecting, at least up to about 80 mph. I didn't try faster.
Can anyone raise their hand and say, "I know what's wrong. It's the xxx."?
Thanks for your help.
