I have a 1985 Non-turbo wagon. While under the car changing the fuel filter I noticed that the fuel line has a kink in it right where it leaves the filter. It's in the section that runs forward toward the engine. It has some rough idle, and some slight gas smell at times, otherwise it is running pretty good.
Since I've only owned the car for 6 weeks I don't know how long the problem has existed.
Since I don't believe there is any fuel leakage I am treating this as a minor (I'll get around to fixin' it) problem at this point, but am just wondering what my course of action should be.
If I need to replace the line, where can I find one? What size should I ask for? None of the usual sources (IPD, FCP) seem to carry fuel injection line.
Alternatives to replacing the line. Anyone tried this?
- thread fuel line through a brass fitting where it leaves the filter
- splice
Any ideas? Muchas gracias from a newbie brick owner.
