Well I figured I'd share a pic of my two newest cars since I'm always talking about them. Took these pics today, now that the 92 is out of surgery.
The top car is my wife's 90 740GL wagon. It's had a timing belt, water pump, tuneup, taillights, corner lamps, a headliner, and a set of Michelin Exaltos (195/60HR-15). Fantastic tire for a stock car. This car is smooth, responsive, and quiet right up to 100mph. With 270K, it's still the choice for long trips, though it probably is about to need a clutch job.
Below that is my new 92 240 sedan. M47 trans, LH 3.1 injection, and just received serious front-end work. New Bilstein Touring struts, bump stops, tie rod ends, front bushings, sway bar links. Also cut 2 coils off the front springs, and added GT strut-to-firewall braces. Swapped the Virgos for the mismatched 185/60-14 tires that were on it. Added PBR Ultra Ceramic brake pads. New radiator, removed all the "terrorist" wiring under hood and in the dash, wired in JVC CD changer and head unit to all the factory plugs and speaker locations (all 8 speaker wires were cut in the car, but the amp was still in place). Restored the 9-pin style plug of the older cars, wired correctly to bring all speaker wires up to the head unit. Replaced all missing trim, the special black chrome of the later cars, replaced the center console, floor mats, and a ton of broken plastic inside. Added tach, small clock, voltmeter. I dunno yet if I'll rebuild these seats or hold out for a nice grey or black interior package.
Still to be done: Add Group A wing, turbo sway bars, "B" cam on its way.
I love the way it sits now!
