where should the flame trap be? 700

Car is 740 GLE wagon, 1990 with 16-valve B243F engine, 228,000 miles.

Can't find flame trap. Bought it used and could never find it.

A hose goes directly from the oil trap/breather box to a formed nipple on the air intake hose (the one with bellows that runs into the throttle body for the air mass meter). The oil/breather box has a perforated opening that seems to be part of the box (I have to ise a small wire the clean the hose) - does this functionas the trap, or should I have an assembly with a flame trap on the top of the box?

Also, if I should have an assembly on the top of the box, should a a second hose, a samller vacuum line lead off from it, or do I use a formed tube that sits on top of the box but which has not connection for a smaller vacuum top.

Help would be appreciated, since none of the books or FAQs really seem to show my set up. As always, many thanks in advance to the very generous members here.

Brian
