I was out walking my dogs the other night (one pure bred Lab, one that is half Dachshund, half Australian cattle dog, yes, it looks as funny as it sounds...) and I saw several of my new neighbors. I introduced myself and they said "Oh yeah, you're the one with the Volvo!" Apparently, I'm the only person in the neighborhood that owns a car that is more than two years old, so it sticks out like a sore thumb. We talked and someone asked me how I liked the car. I said that I really like it and that I'll get rid of it when it wears out.
So, my question to you out there is, barring being hit by a bad driver or doing something equally stupid on my own, how many more miles do you think a well maintained '90 240 DL can rack up?? I'm at 246K and I'm pretty sure 300K will come without any problem.
I personally think people get new cars because they are tire of the old ones, rather than because they are worn out...

If it needs to be maintained, repaired or replaced on a 1990 240, I've probably done it. '90 240DL, 245K looking forward to 300K badge. >>You haven't really worked on a car until you draw blood<< :-}
