1968 144S 120-130

I just picked up a 1968 144S from a friend who no longer wanted it. In good shape over-all. Needs front calipers, pads and one set of the hoses. While I'm doing that I have been checking the engine out.

It starts and runs ok sort of. Very cold blooded. Assume that might be a trait? I want to check the timing and points but have been focused on the fuel system. The fuel filter on the fuel pump was pretty bad. There was an in-line filter between the pump and carbs. I replaced that. I cleaned out the fuel bowls. When you press on the gas it stumbles a bit and then takes off. Just seems like something is still not right. Seems weak and you need to play with the choke a bit until it really get warmed up. It sat for at least a year and had about 3/4 tank of fuel. I put stabilizer in and added stuff for water in the fuel. Maybe the gas is old. Are there common things to look for with the carbs that might cause it to stumble and act weak? I was wondering about those little lines that go from the fuel bowl to the jet. One came off and I put it back on. Wonder if I should replace those and see if things are clear from the bowl to the jet?
