Alternator swap completed - got question 120-130

I finally succumbed and swapped out the genny for a Delco alternator this weekend. All seemed to go well with no big surprises. Everything worked fine on a test drive.

On the way in to work this morning the charging light started barely flickering at high speeds. Upon coming to a stop, the charging light went out and stayed out until higher rpm's were reached.

What might cause the charging light to come on at high speed but go off at low speed?
