Cable snapped that heads to transmission. 1800

Hello
I just opened the hood on my next project a 1971 p1800.
I am new to volvo's and this site but I beleive i will have a lot more questions. One of the first things I have noticed is a cable that is activated by the gas pedal that heads to the automatic transmission. It is snapped right at the clevis end and I can not find any info on it.I would like to know how much work to replace or should I try to splice it. I assume it is a "kick down" cable.Any help would be appeciated.
