I just replaced a faulty starter motor in my 84 760 B28F with a rebuilt one. I hooked up all of the wires, re-connected the battery and it started right up. When I went to turn the key off to stop the engine, the motor continued to run "ignition on" even though I had turned to key to the "off" position and even removed it. I finally had to disconnect the main wire to the coil in order to shut down the engine. With the engine stopped, the ignition remained "ignition on" until I disconnected the battery. Could this be a faulty starter solenoid? I had no wiring problems before the old starter went bad. Anyone encounter this problem when replacing a starter?
