Sorry group, should have asked Google before posting. Found a good explanation very quickly.
This may be a moot point as I'm actively looking for a commuter car to replace the Volvo. She really needs to be taken down to address her issues.
But I still haven't gotten to the caster adjustment. Checked the green manual and there was something that didn't seem intuitive.
Manual says to increase caster to add shims (up to 2.5mm) to the rear bolt of the upper A-arm dogbone. This moves the upper ball joint towards the rear?
For some reason I can't get the geometry in my head that moving the the upper ball joint back would increase caster. Shouldn't the pivot point move ahead of the axle to increase caster?
If anyone can explain this it would be greatly appreciated, I've avoided messing with it for fear of adjusting it improperly and making the car even more squirrelly than it is.
Thanks for the help.
