1989 244 with 1-4-4 code, test plug in port #6 200

I searched the site and did not have any luck finding this code (I'm not the best at searching).

This 244 (number 5!) has 110,000 miles with a gas enigine and auto trans. The first problem was the Misses tried to start it several times without luck. She let it sit for 5 min, tried again and the car started and ran fine for a week.

Today she left the farm and on the second right hand corner the car died and would not start. I arrived 1 hour later and the car started , drove it home.

I tested the codes (thank goodness for Bently) and got a 1-4-4, this code is described as "Load signal missing (from LH control unit) Control unit assumes engine is at full load".

At first I was suspecting the ingition switch. Now I am not sure if other components should be checked.

Thanks in advance for your help!
