Negative Battery cable 200 1989

The motor was running good until i disconnected the negativebattery terminal to reset a code.
The code reset but now it runs rough wn't idle,only way to keep it running is to rev, it up...it runs ok at hi rpms,does anyone have any idea what could cause this?
Any help will be appreciated.
