The repair of my ignition system (If you recall, my MSD 6A died) with points plate, points and condensor from a VW worked to a certain extent. I found that the points tended to float at high RPM. And of course I tend to drive with my foot welded to the floor, so I was having engine stuttering above 5500 RPM.
I bought that 'I don't remember what brand it is' ignitor on eBay, thinking I could get it to work if anyone could.
A quick search of the Internet proved that it is a Pertronix unit.
I want to recommend them as a good, responsible company. Their website includes installation instructions, troubleshooting guide, and schematics.
Frankly, without that information I never would have been able to get the thing installed correctly.
Meanwhile, I'm enjoying a $17 (shipping included) ignition system!
