Thanks for help - new one 1800 1967

I posted a few weeks back about my 1800S smoking on startup and hard acceleration. Took the forum's advice and acquired a proper pressure gauge to check cylinder compression. I got 140, 136, 140, 142. After squirting oil into the cylinders, the numbers jumped up to 160, 158, 160, 160. Ah Ha! Makes sense as for the past 3 years, the previous owner's widow started the car once a week and drove it only once every 4-6 weeks.

Anyway, I have another problem with this car that may or may not be related. I recently found out, on a trip down I-5 in southern California, that the car will absolutely not go any faster than an indicated 80 mph (3500r/min in OD). If I click the OD off the revs climb to around 4500 but the car still refuses to accelerate with the pedal mashed to the floor.

It pulls fine to 5500 in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Mixture going lean? Carb problems? Fuel pump?

Thanks, again, guys.
