I'm used to trouble-free removal of mid-80's rear-seat sedan bottoms - push down & back with your hand at the catch, lift, that's it.
Recently I pulled the rear seat from my 89 244. I couldn't do it with my hands and pushing with an object started to tear the seat. Finally I pried up until I bent the bracket (the one bolted to the floor) and was able to push down and back on the seat.
The design is different: the earlier ones have a more open hook and are made out of thicker stock; the 89 has a more pronounced downward curl and is made out of heavy-gauge sheetmetal.
Net, removal of the newer ones either takes a trick I don't know or more strength than I have. When I re-install the seat I'm replacing it with brackets I removed from an 85.
If anyone knows a trick to removing I'd like to hgear it.
