Can anyone give me a brief run down on the auto trans on a 122, I have a buddy with one in a 66ish sedan. He thinks its on its way out, I'm not to familliar with the auto's. What if any are their issues, is it just one model or is there more than one like the M40 & M41 and is it the same trans from any model as long as its from a B18 or B20?. I've found one off of a B20 out of a 140 for around $50 with not much mileage on it , is it worth it to replace with another auto or do a manual conversion. I've read on here that the tunnel on the auto is wider than the manual trans tunnel, is it wide enough to drop a T5 in there without much metal work? Sorry for the vauge questions, just wanted to ask on his behalf, any input would be helpful.
