I'm confused... Are you saying they recommend cutting the wires to the plug to the computer under the dashboard??? So that you keep the old plug and splice the wires?

If so, that's the most preposterous thing I've ever heard... the new (or good used) should have a fine plug there...

I hope you're referring to something else. In any case, plugs are made to be removed. Wires are *NOT* made to be cut.

No matter what you do, a cut/splice operation is a patch. A replacement operation is a fix, and often means new plugs as well.
