Bad Exhaust Gasket at Converter-Downpipe Junction 200

My '87 240 blew out part of the gasket between the front of the converter and the back end of the downpipe (that triangular joint with three bolts). The bad section is about 1" long, on the top side.

Wondering the best way to fix this? The bolts are completely rusted over 22 years, the bolt heads look pretty corroded.

What would be the easiest way to separate the two sides and replace the gasket?
Alternatively, could an exhaust shop just weld across the bad section, welding the
two pipes together? I only need to get another 6 months or so out of the car, so it doesn't have to be a long term fix.

TIA,

DS
