I'm working on a 1965 122S with my father as a first car. The chassis transmission mounts are behind the transmission itself. The m40 that was in it when we bought it has pieces of angle iron bolted between the tranny and crossmember mount to match up to the chassis. The hole for the shifter appears to have been cut with a hammer and chisel. We assume this was an automatic transmission car that has been converted. It has a hydraulic clutch in place. We are putting a 1970 B20 from a 142 in and have an m40 with a bellhousing from a later model cable-type clutch (140 series?). Is there anything we need to do to convert this to a manual cable clutch? Parts, modifications, etc. ?
Thanks,
Matt and his dad John
