New Amazon owner needs help! 120-130 1963

I used to own a 2004 Volvo V40, but I was starting to have difficulties paying off the car loan and the ridiculously high insurance, so I sold it while I was on my summer vacation. I always wanted a Volvo Amazon, so I thought what the heck and bought one. There weren't many available nearby (I needed it delivered to me since I was stranded without a car at the summer house). I bought a nice looking 1964 Amazon for 2000€. It only had a little rust over the left front light.

Today I realized that it actually was a 1963 model after googling the model and type information and so on.

After I bought the car I drove home about 200km. There wasn't a drop left in the tank as I parked my car in front of my home. It had sucked up 45 liters of fuel. It turned out that for example the air filter had never been changed. My mechanic showed it to me. What was left was a small handful of what looked like burnt shit flakes. They completely fixed my engine and it runs smoothly now. I have bought various workshop manuals for the car, but there hasn't been one that would answer these stupid questions.

1. How do I get the windshield washer fluid. One manual said that pulling out the wiper button all the way would activate the washer fluid. It doesn't. I told this to my mechanic and he noticed that there was a hole in the tube and replaced it, also the power wasn't connected. So when I picked up the car, the guy wasn't there but they said that it was fixed along with a few other things. So I just drove home. So let's assume it works, how do i turn it on?

2. I was trying to figure things out in the car today and I found a button on the passenger side under the dashboard right by the door. What does this button do? You can press it in or pull it out, but I couldn't find anything happening.

3. There seems to be a remarkable design flaw. If it rains, the front of the car, just behind the grill where there is an empty space that fills up with water. I'm talking about liters of water. It obviously creates rust and it hasn't got any hole to drain the water out, so i have to empty the water by hand. It is really stupid because the space between the grill and the curtain thing is so small that you can only fit your hand in there and that's about it. So I have to use a small cup or a rag, but there can be 10l of water trapped in that space. Has anyone got a solution for this? Should I drill a hole under the car or is that a bad thing?

There are loads of things I need advice on, but if anyone of you have a manual or brochure or anything about the 1963 Volvo Amazon 121 B18, you can email me at maffe@kolumbus.fi
