Max;
I already posted answers to your electrical issues under that thread, so hope they are squared away, but let me add my official Welcome!
Go easy on your mechanic! Unless he is an "oldtimer" or has model-specific experience, it is as much up to you as him to learn the details about this vehicle. The simple matter of touching the car may make some of the functions which haven't been touched in a while, go intermittent...especially those fuse connections!
I suggest you read the technical articles on Sw-Em site which should give you a head-start on coming up to speed...I hope this will also to make the car reliable so that you can have some fun with it, instead of wondering if you're going to have lights to get home with...
When in doubt, post your stupid (or other) questions on this forum...you will have literally a world of experience at your finger tips, and with few exceptions, we will likely have run into your issue before...
Cheers!
