Ok, so this is odd but I want to do something that will defiantly cause a code that causes the check engine light to come on. (beat the car at it's own game)
When I turn the key to the on position, it does light up like it should (maybe a bit dim but defiantly on). But I've been trying to stop a hunting idle that's intermittent and checked the codes today and got a 2-2-1 (Fuel trim (lambda control) too lean at part load). Which according to the FAQ and my book should trigger the light. In my testing of the idle issue I pulled the wire for the MAF sensor for about 10-15 seconds (idle smooths out) and still no light.
So what's the easiest most definite way to trigger the light. Cause I would like to know when there actually is a problem
