The cable/connector on my CPS has been dying for years. When the car won't start I pop the hood and give it a little jostle and it reliably starts right up. I suspect the fault is where the sensor cable and its connector mate up. This used to happen maybe once every month or two, however lately its happening too frequently for my liking.
I have heard replacing the CPS is not an easy task and that a failed job can result in having to remove the tranny. I have no reason to believe my CPS is bad, just the connector, and therefore I just want to splice in a working connector. Before heading out to the junkyard in search of a new connector to splice in as a replacement I was wondering how common this particular connector is across different models (740s) and vintages?
If anyone has a failed CPS with cable laying around I'd gladly pay shipping for it.
