Hi gang,

I am at the point where I either farm out some body work and rear main seal work, or sell this great station wagon. The electrical and interior are all functional as designed, except the high speed for the blower fan.

I have a local body shop that has quoted me $700 to fix the passenger side rust and door dent. This is for welding with the proper gauge steel, pounding out the dent, and primering the areas.

The same shop also would like to paint her, but that means removing all of the chrome strips, windows, lights, etc. Cost is unknown, but would include new rubber for the windshield, rear window and rear quarter windows. The bottom of the rear quarter windows would also need welding, the supporting metal is preforated.

I no longer have the strength required to drop the tranny and replace the RMS and clutch. Expecially on my garage floor.

What brings this to a head is Winter is coming in a couple of months and Zena will be parked again until April. I dislike seeing any car just sit, but I refuse to drive her in the salt. There is no underbody rust. The rust in the rear of the front fenders is from collecting leaves and composting.

If there is any interest among you for a great bodied car with a B18 and Weber carb, send me a note. My only real regret is not being able to enter Cynthia's garage where she supposedly stored the SU's and manifold and other spare parts.

Klaus
