Thank you Jack 120-130 1967

STL is not as far as Bartletsville, but close to it. I asked a reputable Volvo shop for an estimate to R&R the RMS and possibly the clutch. $1400 is a bit much for a tolerable oil leak - my garage floor is painted so the oil just wipes up. The clutch still works unless it try to slip it going up the driveway, when it tries to buck a litle.

The local body repair shop quoted me $700 to fix the rust and dent, which I gather is not too bad. But it will need a lot of additional work before being repainted.

I am on a downer since I sold my 1998 V70R I guess. But that money could go to welding.

You are correct, this is still a very, very good car. My ambition is a little strained at the moment. Perhaps I should go out and just drive it. The heat valve is fixed, so the cabin temperature is tolerable. I put a $1 cupholder on the wire console basket, great for Gatorade. I could ignore the creaking suspension under the rear seat and run through a tank of gas???
