Group:
Next problem I have is that the driver's seat on '98 S90 will not move back and forth. It tries to move but stops. Local Volvo specialist says he found a ball point pen in the rack on the center side and removed it. Then it moved for him a bit, but stopped again.
He can fix it if the seat is out.
However, he cannot remove the seat because the rear bolts are not accessible.
Maybe with the black plastic panel next to the console removed. That requires a right-angle Torx wrench. I'm going to try a vise-grip holding a Torx bit.
I don't know how to remove the console, either.
The question is, How do you remove the rear seat rail bolts when the seat cannot be moved? How did they do it at the factory? The end of the bolts do not appear on the bottom of the car so I cannot drill them out.
I have an article on fixing the fore and aft cable, and it references the time required with the seat out. But how to get it out?
Found no reference in the FAQ
Thanks,
Rich
