Fan on now wont start 900 1992

My 92 960 wagon the radiator fan wouldnt turn off and the car wont start turns over and wont start. No codes show up the sensor for the fan is it at the front at the thermostat housing or at the back of the engine on a straight six.
What could cause this am i on the right track.
