what is this pipe? 200 1993

What is the copper colored pipe in the picture? There seems to be an oil leak coming from the joint with the large nut. Since it is so close to the exhaust port it is smoking when hot.

I have another 1993 240 that doesn't have this pipe. I tried to loosen the nut to examine the situation but it is really tight, and since the pipe looks like thin copper I didn't want to push my luck.
